Over the past few weeks, I’ve had the opportunity to continue learning while actively contributing to the WordPress community. Looking back, it’s amazing to see how much progress can come from staying consistent and taking on new challenges.
One of the milestones I’m most proud of is completing the entire Project curriculum. Going through each module gave me a much better understanding of how WordPress projects are organized, how contributors collaborate, and how open-source communities work together. At this point, I only have the Wrap Up left, which feels like the final step in an incredibly rewarding learning experience.
Another achievement I’m excited about is reaching more than 200 contributions to the WooCommerce Polyglots project. What started as a way to learn the translation workflow quickly became part of my daily routine. Each contribution, whether reviewing translations or submitting new ones, helped me improve my understanding of localization while supporting the Spanish-speaking WordPress community.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that contributing to open source goes far beyond writing code. Translation, documentation, testing, and community collaboration are all essential parts of making software more accessible to people around the world. Being able to contribute in this way has been both meaningful and motivating.
When I compare my first contribution to where I am today, I can clearly see how much I’ve grown. I feel more confident navigating the tools, collaborating with other contributors, and understanding the overall contribution process. Every contribution has helped me build new skills while reinforcing the value of consistency and continuous learning.
As I move toward the final stage of the program, I’m excited to complete the Wrap Up and continue contributing to WooCommerce and the WordPress community. This experience has shown me that meaningful progress doesn’t happen all at once—it comes from taking small steps every day, learning from each experience, and staying engaged with the community.
I’m looking forward to continuing this journey and seeing where it leads next.
